Review summary

This was going to be our first cruise ever! A few hours before we leave, Hubby has a heart attack. I call to cancel the cruise. Can't do it because we were part of a group and they used a travel agent. I call travel agent. Their offices are closed or I get put on hold forever. I get a call from Carnival Cruise at departure time. "We see you have not boarded." I can't get my excursion cancelled either. I finally get to my computer and email everyone. Do we get any refunds/credits? The group did not purchase travel insurance so we lose more than $1000. Lesson? Buy travel insurance. Life is short. Cherish your loved ones. Trust Jesus with your eternal life. p.s. Hubby is recovering at home, Thank you God!

It might be worth your time to call your credit card company. Some cards include travel insurance if you have used that card for the cruise...

With out travel insurance chances are slim. Unless Carnival makes exception🤔 2 years ago my wife had accident and we had to cancel 2 days prior, we had insurance and all was reimbursed. Well worth the xtra $$ to cover everything

I’m so sorry this happened to you. My mother died days before our cruise and I did not have insurance. What I suggest doing is get a copy of his medical diagnosis, time of occurrence, ets. Email the information and documents to icare@carnival.com I did this and received a refund. It doesn’t hurt to try

Make sure your travel insurance would cover a same day cancellation. Many won't or would only give a percentage.
