Review summary

Took my 89-year-old father on his first cruise. Everyone was amazingly nice and helpful. They provided a wheelchair ride onto the ship. He was able to take the tender to Catalina and to participate in the shore excursion in Ensenada. The wait staff the "my time dining" restaurant was also great. The food was mostly good with nice selection. The Gifft wines were great and very reasonably priced. The entertainment was especially good. We enjoyed the comedy and the highlight was the four men and four women who sang and danced and entertained us every night. They were extremely talented and very likable people as well. The only three glitches during the cruise were 1) that our room was not set up for three people when we arrived and it took six hours to fix it; 2) we were overcharged for my father's massage but it was fixed before we debarked; and 3) you couldn't walk from one end of the ship to the other end on Deck 9 without passing through the very stinky smoking section. Overall though, Carnival and their wonderful staff did a great job.
