Good Family Fun

Sail Date: April 06, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was fun.  We enjoyed being together as a family.  I would have rated it higher, however, Club O2 was boring for my teens and not much going on at the camp for my 5th grader.  The activities at the pool were entertaining, however, geared more toward adults.  Our steward, Hiro was fantastic!!!  The rooms were very clean and well maintained.

Ship Quality
Very clean and easy to find our way around the ship
Food and Dining
Most of the staff was very competent and friendly
Service and Staff
Our steward Hiro (sp?) was fantastic!! Great staff member!!
Entertainment
The cruise director was a little lackluster.
Children's Programs
Boring and uninviting
Onboard Activities
Not a lot for a family to do together at night. My kids like dancing with us and we couldn't. Everything was 21 and older in the evening.
Destinations and Excursions
Catalina has fantastic choices, Ensenada not so much. Need more choices offered by cruise line.
Cabin / Stateroom
No complaints at all
Long Beach (Los Angeles), California
We met a great little family at check-in and hung out together on the ship.
Catalina Island, California
We have been to Catalina several times so we did not get off the ship. We enjoyed all of the amenities while everyone was gone.
Ensenada, Mexico
We went to the Bufadora and had lunch at the most fantastic little taco hut just near the buses. The churros are amazing and so is the baked clam filled with seafood!!

Tip

As a family, take a carry on onto the ship so you can change while waiting for luggage. At end of cruise carry your own luggage off the ship and while waiting for disembarkation play a game with the kids while having breakfast.
