Recommend but with reservations...

This was my second cruise with Carnival...and my friend's 1st cruise ever!  Embarking was easy..no problems there. Then the let down began...  When we got to our cabin, the carpet was wet!  and stained!  That surprised me.. It was also very cold. I could hear the fan going full blast but could not find the thermostat to turn it down.  Our cabin attendant happened to be there and pointed out the control... on the ceiling!  Really?????  We left it on to hopefully dry out the carpet... But when we came back it was still damp.  And freezing for me. My friend had to climb on the bed (almost falling) to try to turn it down but could not.  I spoke to guest services and they offered another cabin... DISAPPOINTED!!  It was way further  down (I paid extra for our cabin location) and smelled like smoke!!!!!!!!!!!!  Instead I ordered extra blankets for me and put towels down.  Next problem...our dinner reservations somehow got changed to early dinner... So we missed our first sit down dinner.. we got there to the late dinner and were told the kitchen was closed..all that was available was room service or pizza or deli (tired and grumpy by then!).  I asked for our dinner time to be changed to late dinner (she did not seem happy to do that for us but it was done). BUT.. Glad I took our confirmation with us the next night..no room at the table assigned to us..they had given our seats to someone else! So we sat at another table.  The people there were very nice and said we didn't miss much by not going to dinner the night before.. makes me wonder what was served. The rest of the cruise was nice...  Food wise... I will admit I am picky because I can cook.  But whoever made the stuffing needs a new recipe!  A lot of bland food..maybe to accommodate the variety of passengers I'm thinking.. And the coffee we ordered thru room service was so strong it was even too much for me!  and tasted old! The rest of the time we had fun..amazing 

 I like cruising... this is my fourth cruise. My first was on Royal Caribbean-Monarch--great food, smaller cabins; 2nd-Carnival -bigger cabins, ok food; 3rd-Golden Princess-awesome food, service, great time! and 4th-Carnival Inspiration- biggest ship yet for me.  I would recommend cruising to everyone and do!.  My friend had a great time!  I probably will cruise with Carnival again..and others.  I am learning as I cruise along...
