Review summary

My dad is visiting for two months, so my wife sent us on a dad/son cruise, it was very relaxing, no dancing involved this time. And we even had some action on the day at sea when the Coast Guards picked up a medical emergency and were hovering 8 feet above the top railings. I'm sure it's on youtube by now.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We Zipped by, despite Coronavirus scare, one hour ahead. the new process is much faster and simpler. Practically no line waiting.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Great food, tasty, anywhere, no matter what. They give you what you want. Our server was unbelievable, would guess what we were going to eat. 6pm table 365

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
lately there has been a surge of selling meeting and less activities. Fortunately the stand-ups were still there

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainers are great, give them more time, less selling.

Children's Programs

me 60 and my dad 83

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always a smile, always offering more. The ladies at the towels desk managed to track down my dad's glasses (lost Tuesday 3pm) even after 24hrs. Kudos to them

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

with dad we experienced the "steerage" (really not) because I was curious and we don't waste on a bedroom. Two bunk bed at 90 degrees, it was fun, but unfortunately I take water pills haha. Large enough for two.

Ship tip

walk around the whole ship on the first afternoon. You may miss stuff you will regret.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Much faster embarkation

Catalina Island, California

More than enough time to play around

Ensenada, Mexico

Don't bother with the blowhole. stay in town, it has grown exponentially and is very safe. Of course there's a lot of homeless and beggers, but not harrassing.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
A breeze. I strongly suggest Uber or family member drop off, so easy. Parking will cost you over 110.00 (2013)
