Review summary

We consider this 4 day the cruise we do to tie us over until our real cruise which is an 8 day. This is a good interim or starter cruise because you get just a taste of what cruising is like. If I couldn’t drive to this port and I had to fly to it, I would have been seriously disappointed.

Super easy, boarding started around 10:45 and we were on within 15 minutes

The food was decent but not exceptional.

We did the piano bar, hung out in the Serenity and the casino.

All the staff was friendly and helpful. We had all positive experiences with the staff.

The ship is small, old And has tacky decor but it was clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

This was a roomy porthole room. The decor is ugly but the room was clean.

Ports of call

Catalina Island, California

It a pretty poet with not much to do other than shopping and walking. We did the $50 golf cart tour which was fun. I didn’t see much in the way of beaches here. This is a tender port that we missed last year, so if it’s bad weather you may not get to go.

Ensenada, Mexico

This port is by far the worst port I’ve ever visited. It’s sketchy and dirty. We walked into town hit a pharmacy and back to the ship. Clearly we weren’t alone in this as the ship felt almost as full as a sea day. We stayed here until almost 6 pm and wished we would have left sooner so we could go to the casino.

Disembarkation

Just as easy as getting on the ship. We did early walk off and was off in 30 minutes.
