Review summary

For a first cruise I thought this was great! The cruise director Mel was very obnoxious. But other than that, there was plenty to do, or do nothing at all! Tvs in the room are tiny, but don’t really need to be watching TV. We got the drink package and I would definitely recommend it. Take advantage of all there is to do, and definitely don’t miss the Hairy chest contest. It was a lot of fun!!

Main dining room was great our waiter Novie was amazing, buffet was okay. Great cocktails

Mirage Piano Bar

5 out of 5

So much fun!! Found this on the last night and couldn’t believe they didn’t have it listen in the itinerary. Great musician with a great personality and sense of humor.

Onboard Activities

Pool was small and kinda slimy, hot tubs were nice. Loved the piano bar that wasn’t on the itineraries for some reason. Spa was a great experience.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
5 stars for the man at the Piano bar!!! DJs were fun, but I’m not really into top 100 music.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Novie was the best!!! Made our dinners so special. Room steward was very friendly, all the girls at the spa were fabulous. Great bartenders. There was only one server who sucked at the breakfast restaurant. But other than that everything was great.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Outdated but clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was nice and clean, lots of storage just not a lot of bathroom storage. No place to put shampoo and stuff in the shower.

Ship tip

Definitely check out the piano bar, and you can order multiple items with dinner!

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Easy parking and getting on the ship

Catalina Island, California

4 out of 5
Really neat how you get off the ship onto a boat and they take you to the island. We did the aerial ropes course and it was so fun!!

Ensenada, Mexico

4 out of 5
Didn’t plan on getting off, but $4 for a bus ride downtown. Don’t book an excursion through the cruise website. La Boufadora and other attractions is $17 on the bus, it’s $36+ through carnival.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Super easy.
