Many rooms have refrigerators now but many of the smaller ships you have to ask. Make sure you let them know your medical needs when you book. Was this your first Carnival cruise? Luggage policy hasn't changed other than they now put tags out on a first come first serve basis. If you leave your bags out (times vary by cruise--ensure you check the app or daily sched) the night before and they will be waiting for you in the terminal.

You can request a cooler for medications from guest services.

I think a small refrigerator is a good idea. Especially for medical medication. Maybe in there next refurbishment along with USB ports.

Did you miss the luggage porters out front of the cruise terminal? We have never had ro carry luggage, they do it for you.
