Review summary

First time on a cruise and last time with Carnival. We arrived on Sept 20th,2018 and were met by porters that took our bags and put them in our room. Wish i would have done it myself because the carnival cruise employee stole my Gopro Hero 5 camera that i had just put in side pocket of my baggage. When i went to guest services to tell them what happened they sent a security team to my room. Ordered all my party in and searched every thing top to bottom. I didnt mind because i figured some solution would come out of this hassle. All they did was put a lost item report in which i explained it was not lost one of your employees stole it. As of today they have not provided any solution or apology. All the lady had to say was i should have carried it with me as if to say its okay for them to steal because i should have kept an eye on it. Also the soft drink process is terrible. I paid for the unlimited drinks for my party but than i realized the hassle of getting a soft drink. My boys had to approach the bars in the ship which was surrounded at all times by people drinking alcohol and being loud and rowdy. We had to wait nearly 15-25 min each time to get a soft drink that we finally gave up. Bring your own drinks if possible if not be ready to wait around the bars.

The porter is NOT a Carnival employee. You need to speak to the union. 😎

Always take all my luggage with me never leave any with the porters I get to unpack right away and know I have all my stuff they will say you cannot take it but is a normal sized luggage you can and the ports are lying don't believe them. They are just trying to make more money for themselves

The porters don't work for Carnival. Like checking your luggage at the airport, you take your valuables with you, same for a cruise ship. It is unfortunate that your personal property was stolen and you have every right to be mad. I think you should file your complaint with the port since its their employees that took the camera. Its unfortunate that you've chosen to hold Carnival at fault. I do agree with you that Carnival's soda package process needs to be changed. I don't like the idea of children having to go to the bar for a soda.

The porter must have seen you put it away? Hard lesson to learn. Always keep valuables in your carry on luggage.

It's unfortunate that your camera was stolen but you should always carry valuables with you. The porters don't work for the cruise line. Royal Caribbean has soda machines on their ships so you don't have to go to the bars for sodas. Try RCCL if you'll give cruising another try.

First and foremost when you check your bag with the porter you’re NOT checking it with Carnival. The porters works for the Cruise Port not Carnival. Also it’s unfortunate that someone stole your camera but they suggest to carry valuables on with you on their website.
