Review summary
Fortunate to have good weather on the cruise and only arriving back to rainy overcast weather. It was an enjoyable experience.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Fine with the exception of conflicting messages that we could bring our plastic bottled water and sodas on and another worker told us no so that was frustrating. I took canned sodas last time without any problem so clarity would be appreciated. If Carnival is going to allow their plastic bottles purchased at the gift shop they should allow any. Why would cans be ok and not plastic bottles?
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We enjoyed the same wait staff the entire cruise and really came to enjoy them and the delicious food. It was a nice opportunity to try things I never had.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Dancing from the lido deck activities to the empress nightclub, Singing karaoke and at the piano bar, Comedy and Musical shows, Fitness track, treadmill, weight room, and sauna an steam room.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Prefer the 'PG' rated shows and would appreciate if the late shows can be toned down with language and content.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Angelito, Erica, and Nubar (?) were delightful and treated us so well letting us try foods we never had and recommending dishes to us. Maria, our room steward did a nice job listening,
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Once I understood the layout I could find my way around easier. Generally things were well kept and I think the dining areas can be a challenge because people are leaving plates and drinks all over so quickly.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The bed was so comfortable I slept really well.
Ship tip
Oceanview room, Review daily activity sheets to know where you want to go.
We had a carriage ride to the beach which was fun and yet It didn't feel safe in Ensenada. We got screwed by some locals at a restaurant and because they seemed so scary we just paid them and got out of there. Their menu said a margarita was $6 and they charged my friend $12 and they charged me $12 for a non-alcoholic little drink. They said they would throw in free chips and salsa and charged us for them and they charged $3.50/per water bottle. Without any food ordered we got a bill for over $40!!!
