Review summary
Have taken many cruises on Carnival. Always have had a great cruise and terrific service. Great value, good food, entertainment is good in most offerings.
Have always booked balcony rooms but this time since it wasn’t available got the ocean view which was fine.

Food and Dining

Picked anytime dining which allowed us to dine when it was convenient. No set time worked for us since we had different plans daily. Each night we had a very pleasant staff. They always treated us as a VIP & greeted each of us by name. We’re always accommodating to whatever needs we had.

Saw comedy shows two nights. One comedian was great. Other one didn’t care for - he just wasn’t funny. She was great and we did go to see her another night. Also saw the musical shows. They were ok. Talent was ok. The one dancer that should have been featured had only little spotlight. He was phenomenal & stole the show. The other talent was ok. Not the best vocal talent.

All the staff on the ship were great. Our room steward was fantastic. Tapa greeted us each morning by name and always took great care in our rooms. Waiters & waitresses also top notch.

We booked the adjoining cabins on Empress deck. So close to everything. ALways try to book Midship. No motion & since some have sea sickness this seems to be ideal location to combat potential for it.
Beautiful weather. I grew up in Southern California and visited Catalina many times. It has not changed a lot. Very quaint little town. Great shopping, restaurants and sights.
Also spent time in Ensenada as a kid on many vacations. Fun restaurants and shopping. Went to La Boufadora. Seen the Bliwhole many times. Best tacos in the world at the little stand in the shopping area. Worth the price of the tour just to eat the tacos!
Bought faster to the fun hoping that would allow us to leave the ship sooner. It did not. We chose to put out our luggage the night before. So many carry off their luggage it was hours until we were allowed to leave the ship. We were told our luggage would not be there. But we got in line to leave went thru and of course our luggage was there. I know it is unloaded when ship docks. Was a little upset we had to wait the extra time. But customs was quick. Happy no more custom forms were required.
