Review summary

We had a fantastic birthday celebration thsnks to carnival! Aside from the gratuity per person being a little rediculous. We decided to do the Chef's table , it was worth all $75 that we paid per person. The food was phenomenal , and i got to try foods i would never otherwise try or have. All the food from the dinner was made with such excitement, creativity and passion by the Chef's. It was lovely getting to see thwm share their lpve and process of creating the dishes and then sharing it with us.

Our steward Wayan made it special by writing a Birthday note on our mirror and leaving gift cards fir the spa and for free pictures at the pixel gallery. Then after we had shared pictures and our experience with Alona at yhe guest services desk she sent a free bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.

Overall, our service was great and the enteryainment was fantastic we just got annoyed and sad about how much the photographers pester you at every meal etc. for a picture.

Ship tip

Definitely do the nightly entertainment shows and the Chef's Table is worth it! Dont buy the unlimited drink package unless you plan on drinking 6 drinks a day...dont forget you still have to pay a 15% gratuity in every drink ordered.

For it being a tourist island with the bulk of its commerce being tourism they were not very thrilled or welcoming with us.

If you do the excursion ti La Bufadora dont go to this restaurant Banana Mana with the baby tigers, lions, and pumas you can pet. They are severely malnourished and one had fleas or some bugs crawling on its mange and inits nose. When we pointed this out to the care staff they responded that the animals produce their own bugs in their fur naturally in the wild. Bull Shit! After realizing that i felt so awful for falling in that trap and giving them our money...Kind of put a damper on our day in Ensenada

The staff get paid peanuts, they rely on gratuities.

You can always say no to the photographers. Sounds like you were treated very well. Why was the gratuities so ridiculous? It goes to all the people who made your service "great" (in your words).
