Review summary
Me and my family are from San Diego, and this is our 4th cruise, first one with Carnival.
Pictures of Ship, and Entertainment were misleading. Ship was run down, out dated and food was mediocre. Staff and Service was just okay. Bartenders, Staff were robotic and would ignore you. Theywouldn't acknowledge you. It appeared most of them were burned out and/or hated their jobs, it showed in how they treated customers. They are already making tips with the automatic gratuity added on, so what is their motivation to provide good service let alone with a smile.
The overal ship decor was okay, some parts were done well. some parts alittle weathered. Pool and Jacuzzi were not inviting and tranquil looking. But was an eye sore, and the worst part of the ship. It needs an major overhaul.
The entertainment was so disappointing. I would compare it to Nickelodeon and SpongeBob (Alex Cruise Director) was the host of ALL Shows and of ALL Announcements throughout the entire DURATION of our Trip. .. Alex (cruise Director) Is very young, and should be hosting children's events etc. NOT EVERY THING! All the exciting entertainments you advertise, and the pictures carnival posted are outdated and misleading.
On the positive. Music and Musicians hired and whom played in lobby and varies places on the ship were excellent.
The Dining room ambience was nice, Food quality again....not so much.
Once you got your food they disappeared.
The youth group was just a babysitting service and AGAIN..NOTHING LIKE DESCRIBED!! My daughter was very disappointed.
When it was time to leave, we didn't leave the ship thinking..."What a wonder time and wish it didn't have to end.!!" Left feeling very sad, and disappointed especially that my kids were let down!!! (Instead) We were glad to be home.
Btw. Our Maid Chamber was excellent!! It appeared he never slept.
