February 2014 Cruise to Baja

Sail Date: February 16, 2014

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Nicely decorated staterooms aboard the ship, more spacious than expected.  Cabin Stewardess was fabulous, bed very comfy, could have had a couple of movie channels to watch for the TV though.

Food was mostly pretty good, we used the alternative seating outside of the assigned dinning room, service in dinning room was lousy so we left and went back to the larger family style dinning room.  (too bad I really wanted a good steak but oh well).  Menu was a pretty good mix of various cuisines.  Lemonade was out of this world I probably drank a gallon a day.  :)

Ship Quality
Nicely decorated ship, needs better ventalation for smoking areas
Food and Dining
Most of what we ate was pretty tasty would have liked to see more vegetables
Cabin / Stateroom
Excellent especially our steward(ess)
Service and Staff
Most of the staff very professional and friendly minus 1 extremely rude busboy (man)
Entertainment
Fair entertainment whished there could have been 1 more show
Children's Programs Does not apply to us
Onboard Activities
Didnt think that having chocolate desserts rates as an activity
Destinations and Excursions
Too costly for what you actually get especially in Ensenada
Long Beach (Los Angeles), California
The usual port area but Terminal is nice
Catalina Island, California
Beautiful beach/shopping area. friendly folks
Ensenada, Mexico
Stay on the ship not worth getting off

Tip

Lido deck is your best bet for service and food which is not much different than the assigned dinning area.. We did run across 1 bus boy that put dirty dishes from other guests on the table that we were eating at, disgusting he had the nerve to roll his eyes when I asked to move the dirty dishes
