I recommend doing an excursion if you want to see something nice. We didn't do one and there wasn't anything worth seeing without one. You aren't there long enough to go out alone and find anything good.

Senior Frogs, Margarittaville, & the Three Amigos were a lot of fun.

Cons: They could have done more activities & games on deck. Got involved with the crowd more. Especially before leaving the dock.
