Review summary

For my birthday this year, we decided to take a girl's cruise for a weekend. The itinerary had two stops (Key West and Cozumel) and a day at sea which seemed perfect. We booked at different times, however, Carnival took efforts to place the cabins as closely together as possible. Our dining table accommodated all 8 of us and was a look forward to point of the day for all of us. The balcony cabin easily accommodated 4 of us and we all spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying the view and the space itself. With 8 women, there was a lot of diverse needs (some of us worked out, some of us just sunned and some of us took part in the on-ship activities to fill out the time at sea) and it seemed no one was ever searching for something to do. The food, while not the best food I've had on a cruise, was ample and room service was quick. Our cabin steward and table staff were great and kept the wine glasses full. The one drawback was the pool deck which was in constant party mode. There were times when it was so loud you could not hear yourself talk. All-in-all, it was such a good trip that we plan to make it an annual event.

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

3 out of 5
We were in Key West in the morning. The excursion activites seemed short in duration for the $$ and strolling around the town and looking at shops is what we ended up doing. We were back on the boat with ample time to spare before departing because there just wasn't that much of interest.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We all had a great time in Cozumel and stayed out till dinner and then went back out for more shopping. The beaches were beautiful and the snorkleing was great.
Don't Miss: Don't miss the beach; choose one with water activities for a fee. Don't miss the fresh guacamole and chips.

Pros: Our group of 8 friends were able to find enough diverse activites on the boat and excursions, We were able to dine together each evening at one table. The balcony suite cabin had ample room for four and we were treated like royalty by the crew.

Cons: While we all enjoyed lying in the sun on the deck, at times, the party atmosphere was a little much. The serenity deck isn't as central nor were we able to get 8 spots together as frequently.
