It was a nice cruise with relatively few issues. We would book the same ship with the same room and itinerary again.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
No big issues. Checked in at 10:30 and was on the ship by 11:30. The upstairs lounge for VIFP members in Terminal 6 is comfortable.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was quite good. There were a few nights in the MDR when it took quite a while to get served due to what looked like staffing shortages.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We saw all four Playlist shows. All were quite good considering the cast had only recently joined the ship. The Horizon Band was a lot of fun. Trivia was typical for a Carnival cruise. The CD was not my favorite.
Entertainment

Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The staff was quite nice and helpful, especially the bartenders and other staff in the Havana area.
Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
It was a Havana interior cabin, nicely appointed and very clean. Nina was the best cabin steward we have ever had.
Ship tip
Be patient. Food service is slow. The elevators are quite slow as well.
Did a snorkel and beach excursion through the cruise line. The snorkeling was great. The beach was just outside of Sandals and we were to swim to it. We were not allowed to use any chairs once we got there, so most folks stayed on the boat and took advantage of the open bar.
Kind of a mess. Horizon uses the new digital debarkation process and no longer makes many announcements, as passengers are to receive push notification when it is their time to leave. Many passengers, including us, never received the notification. The CD announced last call with several hundred passengers still waiting for the notification. It became a madhouse at that point.
I will be boarding her for the 3rd time in 2026. Going on her twin the Vista this February. Vista was my first cruise when she was new. Matt Mitchum was the Cruise director back then. Miss that guy...
