Do the dolphin cove and stingray city in Grand Cayman! Best excursion ever.

Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Main dining helps avoid the crowded lines of kids coughing around the buffet. However, the seafood was often overcooked. The calamari was like hard rubber bands and when we brought it to their attention, he said well it’s calamari. Actually calamari is very nice and tender if not overcooked. The buffet lacked variety and we only visited a couple times because there were so many people and I was using a walker for assistance at times and people would just push around me. And, if you notice from the pictures, water condensates and drops in your plate from the air units on the ceiling in the buffet area.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
There weren’t a lot of activities available and trying to find a place to sit on lido deck often took up to an hour. Then if you get in line for food, the towel guy puts a sticker on your chair and moves your stuff after 20 minutes. You’re not getting through any food line in 20 minutes.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The piano bar/Sean was very entertaining! We attempted to see the celestial strings show and after 20 minutes of complete boredom watching a pixie run back and forth to the same couple to fill out pieces of paper they were hanging on a tree, we left.
The comedy show was good. He was a bit raw, but it was good. There wasn’t a lot for entertainment.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Our room steward was Superman and he was wonderful.
However, the staff definitely needs some ADA training. I had a walker with me to take on an excursion and the Carnival guide asked the previous group if anyone needed assistance but didn’t ask our group. Then when she literally took off running ahead of us down the stairs, we had to ask her where she was going so we could meet up with her. She stated well you should’ve told me you needed an elevator before I got rid of my radio. Sorry, didn’t know that’s how that works, but earlier I was locked in your handicapped bathroom next to Liquid lounge because the door button did not work and I couldn’t get out.
Ship Quality

Blue paint rubbed off from the Havana pool onto our family’s feet so it may have been recently painted.
There needs to be an area of seating set aside for wheelchairs, walkers, special needs on the Lido deck. The ADA bathroom next to Liquid lounge needs to be fixed. It has a compression lock that doesn’t work. I was trapped in there and almost missed an excursion. Fortunately, we had the ability to chat and my family was able to get me out.
Yes, we reported it and it was working 2 days later.
The common areas were average cleanliness.
Check your water goblets in the room. They’re not being cleaned and exchanged between guests, it appears.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was nice and comfortable. The mattress sucks, but don’t they all. The view was worth it.
Bring your sanitizer wipes and wash out the water goblets if you plan to use them.
Ship tip
Bring sanitizer wipes. If you haven’t booked yet, choose another ship.
You are given the option to express disembark with your luggage and are told to be out of your room and listen for your muster station to be called to disembark. Then after the 2nd group is called he starts calling out those who had checked luggage. That’s not express at all and totally defeated the purpose of the process. It took almost 3 hours for the process.
The sea food shack on the Horizon is usually very good , and cooked right . But the main dinning room chefs could usually burn water ! Especially seafood , the lobster tails are always well done , we have been on the Horizon many times And have just finished our 80 th cruise with carnival , so we know the ships , other than over cooked food in main dinning room we love the ship
Sorry your cruise wasn’t up to par, we’ve sailed on the Horizon three times and never had a issue. To be honest it’s our favorite ship but I do believe your cruise is what you make it
