Review summary

One of our parties couldn't make the trip on the day of embarkation. Carnival kept our money and didn't allow us to use the second room that we paid for. I feel that they should allow us to use the room that we paid for or refund that room charge.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We embarked at Aruba due to a flight delay. No one helped us with luggage going from the cruise port to the ship. Once on the ship, we had help.

Sorry about the experience with some missing the trip, that’s what trip insurance is for tho… but regardless of who paid for the trip- the cabin was registered to specific passengers, if they were not onboard, there was no reason to let anyone else have access to that room. That could be disastrous if the absent party was able to board later only to find their room was occupied… people are often surprised that the cabins aren’t handled like hotel rooms that basically it doesn’t matter who stays in the room. If there was an accident, the manifest is how they sort through missing, dead, injured, etc.

Well... for starters, when you arrive in Miami, porters move your luggage, not the carnival staff. So the fact that you missed Miami and flew to aruba... there would be no porters. Secondly, it's in the contract about the cabin... they will be reimbursed taxes, port fees and any prepaid excursions or gratuity.

Appreciate your detailed review. Your forfeit of cruise cost was detailed in the cruise contract you “signed” (checked that had read). Sorry you felt “cheated” and therefore were disappointed in your cruise.
