Elevators are horrible even if you know how to use them.

Review summary

I will never book a Vista class ship with smart elevators again. Yes it was that bad. Nice ship but when you have to use elevators its horrible. Wish I could walk the stairs.

Embarkation

Very FAST.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food for the most part in MDR was good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Did not really care for Cookie the Cruise director.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Violins in atrium were great.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every was VERY friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Smart elevators may be smart but most people using them are not and can not follow instructions. VERY long wait times in prime times. I am so glad they did not put these on the Excel class ships. They know they are an issue.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved the size after being on the Mardi Gras twice in the smaller balcony cabins. Plenty of room.

Ship tip

If you want to go to Ji Ji's go 20-30 min. early as it fills very fast.

I was on Horizon in 2019, and after 2 days, I just used the stairs. The elevators are not smart enough to handle human nature. People change their minds. While waiting after entering a particular deck number, they may decide to go to a different deck. There's no way to modify it, so they call another elevator. And while waiting, they decide to just take the stairs and do something different, leaving 2 elevators to take no one to decks no one wants to go to.

Sorry your fellow passengers weren’t as smart as the elevators. I agree that they are a royal pain. Appreciate your feedback. Sorry you were disappointed.
