Good Ride, but not enough hot tubs or pools and not much to do.

Review summary

Decent cruise, the ride was very smooth and the food and service were good. The real disappointment were the comedians and lack of things to do. The comedians were not very good and after one show they just repeated the material.

Embarkation

No problems here

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining had great service and good food. Buffets were a little limited, but good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We did a back to back cruise and most games were literally a repeat.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows were pretty good and worthwhile, but the comedians only had one performance that was not repeated.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wait staff and room steward were great!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Overall the ship was in great shape and well maintained. There were only four hot tubs and two small pools for general guest and even with only 50% passenger capacity on this sailing, they were very full. and over crowded.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Balcony room was typical. The only really annoying thing was that they have a swing door to the balcony instead of sliding. The problem is that my neighbors on each side kept going in and out and would just let the door slam all times during the day and night.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Oranjestad, Aruba

We always love Aruba and the beach is just a short bus ride away.

Willemstad, Curacao

4 out of 5
Very nice port with plenty of shopping. We found a beach that was near which makes it all the better.

La Romana, Dominican Republic

1 out of 5
Horrible! We vowed to stay on the ship if we ever returned. Walking on our own we were constantly bombarded with high pressure sales and aside from the quaint port shops, rather poor shopping with no beach anywhere near the port.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

4 out of 5
Nice port shops with a very large pool that is free to swim. Be warned that if two ships are in port that the pool fills up and a shady beach chair is hard to find. We did find out that the beach that is visible to the ship is a 20 minute walk or $5 cab ride. It is actually quite nice, but if you like to walk like we do, the taxi drivers are relentless until you tell them that you don't have any cash.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Really ran behind and we were very late getting off the ship.
