Review summary

I chose this cruise because it was inexpensive, not liking Carnival after a number of sailings in the past. I boarded with the intention that it would be a one and done experience and then move on and never consider Carnival again. Well, my outlook has changed. The ship was beautiful. The activities on board entertained us when the ports didn't. The staff...they are the primary influencers who got us to change our minds. They made our trip the best that it could be.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Signage would have gone a long way to help you know where to go or what to do.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food is nothing to right home about, but the staff really made the experience.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The SkyRide and Ropes Course were a lot of fun and good for any age.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We spent most of our nights in the Piano Bar and had a wonderful time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Hands down, the best experience possible from the staff on board.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship that steers away from the gaudy Vegas style neon colors into a more elegant and tasteful dΓ©cor.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was comfortable with nice amenities. Be able to have access to the Thermal Spa with our cabin was a nice perk.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
It's Miami - not much to say about it.

Bimini, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Beautiful from the ship, too far from anything without ground transportation or a shore excursion. If you're a beach person (we're not), it has some beautiful beaches.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

3 out of 5
Again, if you are a beach person - great island. Comparing to Royal Caribbean's private island, it doesn't measure up.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

3 out of 5
Once again, beautiful from the ship, too far from anything without ground transportation or a shore excursion. This port did do better where the ship docks, there is a little shopping area and a pool that you can enjoy. But, without the ground transportation, there is no experiencing local culture or crafts.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Again, signage would have gone a long way.
