Review summary

Very disappointed, all three original ports were totally changed to different locations (the original ports was the reason I chose this specific cruise) approximately 2 weeks prior to cruise. Then a couple days before the cruise our 3rd port was cancelled and we went back to the same port a 2nd time. Not sure I will travel Carnival again, we were never given a reason why the ports were changed but by the time we were notified, it was too late to cancel our vacation time that was requested at work as well as other arrangements that had to be made in order to be gone from home for that length of time.

Beach/water was beautiful but nothing else to do there if an excursion wasn’t purchased. Then we got stuck going here for a 2nd day, we did not get off the ship.

This port was changed to a 2nd day at Half Moon Cay

We were on the July 4 cruise also , there were so many disappointments on the ship including food and island cancellations , and no reason given . And that boring “ hell hole” of an island ! Called half moon cay , to spend 2 days at. Was ridiculous, after almost 75 cruises with carnival this had to be the worst ,

Sorry you missed some ports, most of us have missed a number of cruises. At least you got to cruise

We've missed ports due to rough waters and ports have been changed for other reasons, we made it home safe and had a great cruise anyw.

I can't imagine anyone being upset about ANY last minute changes right now. Unless you've been living under a rock, you know everything is still very fluid and changes from day to day. This includes food shopping, doctor's visits, local transportation, working...etc. If you are not prepared for the rollercoaster ride, don't buy a ticket.. I understand you are disappointed, but you should have been more aware. Giving a bad review right now honestly stinks... We are all dreaming of the idyllic cruises we experienced in the past. Hopefully we will be back to them soon! But right now if you're taking what are basically "test" cruises over the next year...be prepared, flexible and patient. There's a huge learning curve throughout the entire industry and, in all of our lives, for that matter.. I also agree with the other poster that having ports changed has always been a possibility due to inclement weather, political unrest or a host of other reasons. This is nothing new... Good luck to all and here's to better sailing days ahead!

I'm sorry you weren't able to have the destinations that you wanted. Thank you for sharing your review.

Should never book a cruise because of ports. Even before covid, many times ports have been changed as we were onboard.

Thanks for the review. Sorry you did not have a great cruise.

Also, what was confusing about the exit process? Or is that because this appears to be your first cruise and you just lack experience?

What was wrong with your stateroom? You indicated it was clean and comfy but have it 1 star. Was this in error?

Changes / cancellations / missed ports have always happened for a variety of reasons. Covid has made it almost certain that changes will occur between the time you book and when you actually sail. If the itinerary is of extreme importance, it is best to take a land vacation to the location(s) since a cruise itinerary is never guaranteed.

With covid restrictions, you are lucky you got to take a cruise. Theres nothing the cruise lines can do if ports won't accept ships right now.

Hi! So your sailing skipped Bimini because the Bahamian government sent it into a higher level of lockdown due to an outbreak of Covid on the island. I’m sorry y’all missed it :( I would have been devastated. I’m scheduled to go on my Aug 29 cruise. There isn’t anything Carnival could have done on such short notice unfortunately. They literally were not allowed to dock at the island. You all were scheduled to be the first Carnival Cruise ever in Bimini. I know they and the island were sad it didn’t get to happen. Some good news though, Bimini is amazing and is actually a short ferry ride from Miami. If you ever get the chance do a land vacation there :)

Carnival wants nothing more than to take everyone to the original destinations. However with so many places closed and more closing again, Carnival is not the only line not getting to port.

What ports were you supposed to go to? I am supposed to be sailing on Horizon in October...gonna be mad if I don't go to Aruba and Curacao

Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations. However, Carnival isn’t that only cruise line canceling ports of call. Perhaps you should wait until things are more stable to sail!😎

With everything that is going on Carnival had to change the ports. Pretty sure they were not allowed to dock in the other ports. Sorry you had such a bad time.

With the pandemic, these things will happen, gotta roll with it.

Sorry you didn’t like your cruise. Ports can be charged at a moment’s notice on any cruise line.
