Review summary

Overall my wife and I enjoyed our cruise very much. We booked this cruise on the Horizon specifically to get a room in and enjoy the Havana Experience. It did not disappoint. We got a Havana aft extended balcony room. We loved the room and the private use of the Havana pool and Spas. Yes; it did cost more than a regular balcony room but IMO well well worth it. I would sail on the Horizon again but only if I could get a Havana room. Outside of the Havana area the rest of the ship is good too ....... but not so special.

We went to 4 shows in the main theater called The Liquid Lounge. The theater itself IMO is poorly designed; there are obstructions to view everywhere..... support columns and props used for some of the shows. The video special effects are state of the art and all of the singers, dancers, and musicians are very talented but..... we only liked 1 of the 4 shows. I suggest everyone go and check it out for yourself

All crew members on the Carnival Horizon were very courteous and hard working. They attempted to make you happy if they could.

Ship Quality

This ship is presently Carnivals newest ship. It is a beautiful ship and the crew works hard to keep it that way. The only negatives that I have on the design is the Liquid Lounge and the Buffet on the Lido deck. The Liquid lounge is small and there are numerous obstructions to viewing the stage. The Buffet is “closed in” and difficult to find things in. The biggest negative of all is concerning hand washing. On other cruises I have made there are crew members at the entrance to the buffet and main dining rooms with bottles of hand sanitizer that they spray on your hands before you enter the restaurant. Washy Washy.This did not happen on the Carnival Horizon

Cabin was larger than normal balcony room. Very clean and well kept. Extended balcony looking out over Havana pool and aft of the ship
