Overall, it was a great experience. I just wish that Carnival would provide more areas for adults (without kids). Don't get me wrong, I love children - but it would have been nice to be able to get in a hot tub without 10 little kids in it as well.

Food and Dining

The buffet is just like all the others-good, not great. We usually stick with Guy's Burger Joint and the pizza place. We went to a couple of the Specialty restaurants like the Steakhouse and Pig and Anchor which were really good but of course you have to pay extra for those.
Onboard Activities

There is always something to do - my fav is the Dine In movies, just kick back in a lounge chair and enjoy the ocean breezes while watching a great movie.
Entertainment

They offered some of the entertainment only once during the trip so we had to choose and miss out on something else that we might have wanted to see.
Service and Staff

Our cabin steward was excellent but I noticed that some of the other staff were a bit grumpy.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a balcony stateroom. Bed was comfortable, just enough room so that we didn't feel cramped. Balcony was perfect for just getting away from the crowd and reading a book!
We only stayed in Miami the night before the cruise so didn't get to do much. We did take the boat tour around Biscayne Bay to see all the Rich and Famous homes. It was a nice trip, very hot and humid though.
Here we did the Stingray Encounter and Turtle Swim - this was awesome! Georgetown is just beautiful. The Capt and crew on the boat to the stingrays were just great and make our encounter with the stingrays so much fun. Our bus driver to the Turtle farm was so nice, even took us to Hell and back, lol - you will see when you get there! The turtle farm was interesting and there was a pool where you could cool off if you wanted to.
I'm with you and the kids. Parents need to keep a closer watch on them. I have done both Carnival and RCL. To be honest I think you just trade 1 issue for another so it all evens out. Lots of kids on both cruise lines but I do think it depends on the time of year you cruise too. I like cruising in May. On the Vista a yr ago I didnt feel like there were a lot if kids. Going on Horizon next May and I hope we have the same experience.
If you want cruises with less children, try cruises of 10 days or longer, cruise from departure ports harder to get to such as San Juan or Barbados, or try Viking, Crystal, Symphony, Oceania or Regent.
