Overall, if I EVER take a cruise again it will not be with carnival. The staff on the ship was amazing but otherwise it was not worth the money we paid.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Boarding the ship was a total disorganized mess and much more stressful than it should be. People were not understanding that my 85 year old Grandmother could not move as fast as others.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The food was nothing to write home about. The meals in the dining room were ok at best, the pumpkin curry soup was amazing though. The best meal I had overall was off the ship in a port.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Most activities on board were geared towards children or the 50+ group.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
What events I chose to go to that I thought would be geared more towards my age group (late 20s), were so so. Adele, who ran bingo was a lot of fun but in order to play bingo you had to buy cards which were over priced and were nickel and dimes for everything. You pay enough to go on a cruise in general, you shouldn’t have to pay so much extra (not including on board shopping).
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The majority of the staff was excellent. Crew members were very friendly and our waitress in the dining room was wonderful.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
People tended to leave drinks/food in elevators which sometimes would be missed by cleaning staff.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The room was a decent size (all things considered, you’re on a ship, the rooms won’t be spacious) mine had a full bath and another bathroom with a sink and shower tub which was nice for two people sharing a room.
Ship tip
If you’re looking for the royal treatment, this isn’t the ship for you. Definitely a party ship geared towards families and 50+.
Relatively clean but a very Americanized port. If you’re looking for the caymen cultural experience you won’t find it in this port. The shops were clean but easily things that could be found in the US.
Loved this port. Our excursion should have been cancelled due to poor weather conditions but was not. There were definitely shops unique to the Cozumel culture. My group chose to take a taxi into the town of Cozumel for dinner. The cab driver was wonderful, walked us across the street to the restaurant and told the owner to make sure we were taken care of. We ate at La Choza and the food was amazing! This was the best meal I had the entire cruise. We were treated like royalty. When finished, the owner called us a cab and we went back to port and again had a wonderful cab driver.
Even more of a disorganized mess than getting on the ship. It took forever to get an elevators, which we had to due to our luggage and my grandmother. Once we were off the ship and entered the customs area, it was a zoo to say the least. People were rude and shoving, we yet again had people trying to rush us along despite the fact we had an elderly person with us who can’t walk as fast as your average 30 year old (obviously). It was absolutely miserable.
Too bad for the disembarkation most reviews find it flawless! All mainstream cruise lines charge for bingo! Most people do their homework and know before they go what is free and what is charged on the ship!
Boricua1... in 2017 you had 48 cruises. Now you are at 61? A couple of suggestions for you. First, don't lie. Second, quit downloading images from the internet and claiming them as your own!
Very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience, after 61 cruises, all balconies and sailing next week weekend, there is a little bit of everything like every other line that we had sailed and tried, including one out Greece in the past. I do have say that all lines are scaling down on on wait staff. Remember how hard they work when you do tipping. Thanks
