Review summary

The cruise was great. We were so excited to sail out on the first voyage out of the US. We had a great time, but Carnival still could work out some kinks on the ship. The elevators need fixing, and it seemed like it was under-staffed. We had members in the party that ranged from age 16-85. We are currently looking to book another cruise, most likely on Carnival but are not against trying other lines.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was super easy! We only waited for about a half hour after luggage and check-in before they let us on the ship. We were actually on the ship before our scheduled arrival time (11:30). We arrived at around 10:00 and were on board by 11:15.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining room was a bit of a mess. The food was not all that and the service was chaotic. Our table was in a weird location, but the maitre d' was super nice and moved us to a different table. Our servers were also nice but were clearly rookies. They were a bit slow and got our orders wrong, served cold food, and were often confused. We let this go as it is a very tough job, and it was the first US sailing for the ship. They will eventually work out the kinks. The free lunches at the specialty restaurants were all very good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The SkyRide was a true highlight of the trip! It was so much fun! We also did a lot of trivia and had a good time. The deck party and the electric white night were also very fun as well.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The only negative here was the dining room waiters who were inexperienced and rushed. They were nice though. The cruise director, Mike Peck, and the FunSquad were great. Our room steward, Natalyah, was also very good and fiendly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is very beautiful and clean. The one thing I didn't like was the layout. You sometimes have to go upstairs and back down because there is a dead end. This took some getting used to, but it is no big deal.

Ship tip

Do not use the elevators if you don't have to! They are VERY slow.

Very nice port. Went to some nice shops, ate at a local restuaurant, and walked around the area.

Any special night besides the white night?

Most ships have dead ends, as there are shafts that run up the ship and need to be there.
