Review summary

Food was so much better than expected. Wait staff the best. Casino split with smoking to one side. Thank you, Carnival. Beautiful ship. I'll definitely take this cruise again!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth. First time out of Port of NOLA and it was very, very smooth. They processed a ton of people in a short period of time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The MDR food was very good. Much better than I had on Carnival Ecstasy. Every soup I tried was exceptional. I didn't love all the dishes I tried, but that was because of the flavor profile, not the quality of the food. Buffet was always crazy busy and the last day I literally could not find a place to sit. Had to venture outside when it was nippy and windy, but another adventure. Guy's Burgers never fails to impress. The line for the deli was always long so didn't try. The coffee at JavaBlue Cafe was oh so welcomed every morning.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I didn't do a great deal of onboard activities, so I'll give it 4 stars because of the casino, (very nice) and the Serenity deck, a slice of heaven.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
It would be 5 stars, but my room steward was rather slow and on 3 separate days, after vacating the room for over 8 hours, the room still wasn't cleaned. So I just put the Snooze tag on the door and took my afternoon nap. Room was always cleaned by the time I came back from dinner.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Staff was constantly cleaning and wiping and sweeping the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
First time in an interior room and was pleasantly surprised. Cabin was spotless, tons of cabinet space, the bathroom was much better than last cruise. The bed was very comfortable. I really enjoyed the cabin. Thought interior would be so confining, but alas, it was just fine.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

4 out of 5
Nice port, lots of parking but the $150 to park for 7 days was awfully high.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
Love Key West. We ported right at Mallory Square, so you start your tour right in the heart of things.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
A breeze. I chose to takeoff my own luggage and it was minutes from elevator to car. Very impressed with the Port of NOLA and Carnival procedures.

Traveler Photos

Wet sail away in NOLA, but so happy to be cruising. Picture perfect weather in Key West Glorious sunrise with Carnival Conquest coming into Freeport
