Review summary

If you ever get a chance to go on this particular cruise with these ports, then you should go. This was one of our favorites and already want to go back to these ports. This was one of the best anniversary trips ever.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The embarkation process was done fairly quickly. The only downside was hundreds of people having to wait inside the terminal for them to call boarding zones. At least we were all masked, tested, and vaccinated. But overall, it was quick, easy and good.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We always enjoy Carnival's dining room menu and food. The lido deck buffet was ok, but we definitely prefer Guy's Burgers or Blue Iguana for lunch.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We played bingo as always, but didn't seem to enjoy it as much this time. Some of the people that were drunk ruined that for us. The hot tub was a good idea for this cruise being it was in January, but the water wasn't as warm as we'd like it. We did attend the Military Appreciation on this ship as well with my husband being in the Army National Guard. He always likes to meet other service members.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I usually enjoy all of Carnival's Playlist shows in the theaters, but I really feel like they could have the women dress a little bit more modest or something. I enjoy a good show just not women's butt cheeks hanging out and sometimes more. But other than that, we always enjoy it.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent service from all as always on Carnival!! It was super cold in our room when we first got in there with it being so cold in New Orleans that day and of course no heat on the ships, but we told our steward and immediately they took care of it. They even gave us complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and wine because of it. We always do anytime dining so we never have the same waiter but they are always terrific.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The only complaint is that on certain parts of the ship, you would have to go back up floors and over and back down to get to certain places cause you couldn't go around to get to your destination, but overall no problems at all. And everything was clean as always.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Love the size of the balcony rooms and of course the balcony is wonderful. You cannot beat getting up and going out and sitting on the balcony and chillaxing in the morning or just whenever. We had 2 different stewards this time and they done an excellent job as always for keeping our room cleaned and making sure we had everything we needed for our room.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

4 out of 5
Not a huge fan of New Orleans considering we don't drink and party, but we do like exploring outdoors and nature. They do have swamp tours, etc to check out there.

Belize City, Belize

5 out of 5
On this particular trip, we did the Xunantunich Mayan Ruins excursion and loved it. It was a 2 hour bus ride to the ruins, but the tour guides done an excellent job telling us all about Belize making it not seem long at all to get there. The lunch that was provided was ok just a little bland for me. We had about 40 minutes to shop once we got back to the port before we had to catch the last tender boat back to the ship. Definitely recommend this excursion if you like history.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This was super easy with the face id thing. We always are self assist and take our luggage off with us, so we literally got off the ship, walked through the passport line where we were face id scanned and out the doors we went.
