Review summary

The negative reviews of Glory are totally lost on us. This was our 2nd cruise on Glory in 2 months. This is a good size ship: not massive but not small. Crew/staff are so friendly. Dining room experience both cruises was great! We thought the ship was in good shape - see my comments below for more details. If people want a brand new looking ship, then sail on a brand new ship!!Any ship that has been on the water for any length of time will have a few rust spots from the salty air and water. That’s just a fact. Apparently a lot of people just look for things to complain about. We were on the cruise involving the accident with the Legend in Cozumel, and we still had a great cruise! We never even knew we hit another ship until the Captain announced it. Fortunately there were only minor injuries to 6 passengers, and the Platinum dining room was only closed for one night as a result of the damage. We stayed in Cozumel until almost 11PM that night so that repairs could be made to make the ship seaworthy. We arrived aback at NOLA safely. At no time did we feel we were in any danger. We would not hesitate to sail with CCL again! We had a great dining room experience - great food and waiters! All production shows were great! Comedians were just okay. Our only complaint on this cruise was about the passengers- lots of very rude and ill mannered people. Their kids were the same, running through the halls near the cabins at all hours of the day....but not Carnival’s fault. Looking forward to our next Carnival cruise in Jan 2020!

Embarkation was super smooth! We are Platinum so we were on board in just a few minutes, and our cabin was ready since we are at Platinum level.

4 production shows were great! Comedians were just okay. Cruise Director, Cookie, was one of our favorites!

Our cabin steward was just okay. Our dining room staff was excellent! Crew in general were very friendly.

Ship Quality

Public areas had new carpet/furnishings. Our cabin had new carpet and a fresh coat of sealer on the balcony railing. Not sure why so many people are complaining about the condition of the Glory. Sure there are a few rust spots on the exterior but all ships have that from being on the sea 24/7. Main wear and tear we saw was on the Lido furniture, which is typical.

Had a forward balcony cabin. Plenty of room with brand new carpet. Cabin was in great shape.

Had to chuckle regarding the food/kids comment. We were on the Dream and were overlooking one of the buffet areas. A kid dropped a chip on the floor. Because we have always been impressed with the staff, we just said to ourselves, wonder if the chip would get stepped on before being picked up by a staff. A staff member was on it lickety split. Carnival staff are some amazingly hard working people.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise! We have found that many passengers are becoming rude and act entitled. They drop food in the public areas (corridors, elevators, stairwells,etc.) and make no attempt to pick it up. I am saddened by this behavior, but as you say, it isn’t the fault of Carnival. Thanks for sharing your experience as a passenger on the Glory when the accident occurred!😏

I agree there are a lot of people that just like to complain. We go on the Glory January 12th for our first cruise. I'm not worried about the ship, I worried about being stuck on a ship with uncontrolled children and rude people.

Glad you enjoyed it. We will soon take our 20th cruise and have never had anything we would consider a bad cruise. Nothing is ever perfect, but it is rarely all bad either. Some seem to be looking for problems instead of just enjoying themselves. After reading thousands of reviews, my conclusion is those that are all negative are either from people who have some type of grudge against the cruise line, are employees of, or extremely loyal to, a different cruise line or are just negative people who find the worst in everything they do. My dad used to say some people aren’t happy unless they are miserable. 😊
