Review summary

Took my mother, mother-in-law, daughter on this cruise. It was very nice- though the weather was still on the chilly side despite it being late June/early July. We never had a chance to wear shorts and though some people used the pool, it just seemed a bit too cold to swim or lay poolside. Ports of call okay- some excursions better than others. Tours of St John's a bit disappointing- Peggy's Cove was lovely.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was excellent- we did not feel the need to try a specialty restaurant. Don't miss the Fish and Chips counter tucked away on the top floor of the Red Sail Restaurant- excellent!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Great shows- enjoyed by my mother and daughter- they had appeal across several age groups.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most staff were terrific. We had an issue with an excursion- the bus broke down, we missed some things we should have seen. The Shore excursion staff were not as terrific and finally offered us 20% back- that was our only negative in terms of staff wanting to be of service. Everyone always was very cheerful and nice. Really liked the Captain, Cruise Director and our Maitre D.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Very clean. I missed having a deck that went around the entire ship that you could walk as some other ship layouts have.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice layout and larger than many other lines.

Ports of call

Saint John, New Brunswick

Husband and daughter took the Best of St John excursion. Went out and about until the bus broke down- they ended up missing shopping in St John's and the museum. They liked the village they went out too but all in all could have skipped the trip- especially being stuck roadside for an hour or more. I did the shorter trolley tour. Hard to see out the trolley windows if anything was not on your side of the trolley. The trip to the reversing falls was a let down- we had pictured lovely countryside and we stopped in a parking lot to look across the river and see turbulent water and a paper-mill. Heard the Bay of Fundy was more interesting- I could have skipped my excursion and just walked about town a bit. Was glad we did not do the Falls Boat excursion that sounded great but was just a boat doing spin arounds in the water from the same parkinglot we viewed the reversing falls from.
Don't Miss: ??

We did the Titanic and Peggy's Cove trip. Guide was great and the tour very interesting.
