Review summary

Overall the cruise went smoothly and we had a good time although the ship is older. Gabe, the cruise director, is amazing! He kept things fun and is a great entertainer. He will be famous one day. Otherwise the staff were great - the ship was always clean. Our room steward Stephanus was amazing - he should be promoted to a position where people interact with him more because he made our cruise experience amazing through his smile, personality, communication, etc.

Carnival freedom is an older ship. If you want a better experience, try one of the newer ships.

Very nice port. Lots to do at the port like shopping, swimming. There is a DJ and huge swimming pool at this port so bring your suit! If you want to experience the countryside culture of DR then try the mega truck excursion.

The port is very nice. Try the mega truck excursion to experience the culture. Bring some money or candy to throw to the kids! They loved it.
