Cozumel, Belize and Roatan are my favorites. Very safe. I book my excursions with the individual business never a Carnival excursion. It's cheaper and the people are so friendly and helpful they take care of you. The only time I had to use Carnival was to Xunantunich ruins because it was over an hour away. When in Cozumel I go to Nachi Cocom for a low cost all inclusive beach, pool and bar day. In Belize I went to Butts Up Cave tubing and Xunantunich ruins. In Roatan I went to Daniel Johnson's monkey and sloth hangout. I plan on taking a lot of return trips. I'm one happy solo traveling 62 year old woman.

Yep we enjoyed it the first and second time but the third time we went there was to many ships and people couldn't and a bit of a pain .. found prices go up with the amount of ships in .. you always need to watch ur wallet and valuables when ever ur in a another country ( even at home ) however Cozumel is no different 🤷🏼‍♀️

You are the only other cruiser I've heard who admitted they weren't particularity impressed with Cozumel. Everyone else I know loved it! True, we were diverted there due to a hurricane near the Bahamas, so most of the cruise lines had diverted their ships there, too. And because of the huge number of passengers there, there very few excursions available for under $200.00 per person. There also was a major problem with people getting their pockets picked and purses snatched. Don't get me wrong, Cozumel is beautiful. It's just not one of my favorite ports, either.
