Carnival is a lower cost cruise line, but nearly as nice as the more expensive ones. The ports for this itinerary were nothing special, but we enjoyed relaxing and eating!

Very smooth. No waiting.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Plenty of food and great options that were all included. Burgers and pizza were great. Dinners were a bit bland but nice and plenty of choices. I booked Carnival for their melting chocolate cake that is served every night.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Lots of activities, though pools were filled with people on sea days.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Great sets, but talent was a bit lacking. We enjoyed the G rated stand up comics.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Great service, but only once a day room steward and had to ask for tea and coffee refills in restaurants. One very nice feature is everyone greeted us by name, from the room steward to wait staff and hostesses. I don’t know how the hostesses could remember all the faces and names. Impressive!
Ship Quality

The Carnival Freedom is not huge, but lacked nothing. It was clean and could use a paint refresh and window cleaning, but was fine, given the price.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Nice cabin with plenty of storage. I recommend balcony cabins.
My favorite port. Owned by the cruise line, there was shopping and a great beach with plenty of lounge chairs, umbrellas and floats at no additional charge. There was a $14 ski lift to the beach and back, but the walk was short with interesting sights and signage on the way.
Why do you need to have your cabin steward come in more than once aday? From what I remember when I was on the Freedom the cabin steward greets you and asks if you prefer, morning or evening or both. I choose morning, but still get a turn down at night.
