We had a great time and would like to go again. My only real complaint is with the buffet food and the ridiculous attempt at BBQ.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Dining room was pretty good. Buffet was a mixed bag. The breakfast buffet was just a half step up from the "free" breakfast you get at a budget hotel. Omelettes were good but scrambled eggs were very runny. Pastries were terrible. Lunch buffet included a great salad bar but entrees reminded me of a school cafeteria. They have a BBQ specialty restaurant that was terrible. Apparently the chef never ate in a BBQ restaurant.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The adults only hot tubs and sun bathing areas were great especially since this was during spring break. The kids really really enjoyed the all ages pool. Fitness center was very good.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Entertaining but nothing special.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
The kids love the clubs and they do a great job keeping them safe and entertained.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff was friendly and helpful without exception. Really impressed with the staff.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The Carnival Freedom is not new and it shows. Reasonably well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom

Very comfortable. Slept 3 without a problem.
Ship tip
It's pretty easy to drink enough to justify the "cheers" package.
The Freedom just had a very expensive make over. Buffet food usually isn't good. The omelet station is the best part of the buffet. Did you eat the sea day brunch or go to the afternoon tea? They are good! I won't be on the Freedom until next January, but I can't wait! We're doing the Partial Panama Canal Transit cruise.
