Review summary

I will never book through again. I feel ripped off because I was under the impression my husband and I had $750 to spend onboard. When I got home and called 888-759-5514 the agent said that was only if I spend $10,000!! Are you kidding me?!?! So upsetting and deceiving. We would not have spent the money we did on the ship had we known that.

Service and Staff

Room Steward was amazing and Waiter Edward was amazing. Also we were given exceptional service at the excursion desk and were able to get on a scuba diving excursion that we thought was going to be full.

Ship Quality

It was just outdated. The staff did their best to keep the ship clean. They were always working. It was just hard to always have room service cleaned up quick enough and the lido deck picked up fast enough.

Ship tip

The Freedom is outdated. I know a newer ship is coming to galveston and we sail on it next year.

Belize City, Belize Did not visit port

Did not get off on the port because we had to tender in more than 30 minutes on rough waters. Soooo disappointing

Beautiful island. We did the two tank dive excursion. I was not impressed with the master diver on the first dive. I was so nervous I didnt even go down. We had to go back in to get a second tank (should have been on the boat already) but the second dive he changed things up a bit and I went 55 feet down and loved that one. The master diver was more organized and showed us what was good to look at on the reef.

Note to self: never use impressions to establish my budget. Ask specific questions, get it in writing, then verify it.

I agree with the others credit is in your contract. $750 is a lot of OBC. Is that 375 each? It depends on the room , the smaller and least expensive rooms get less OBC.if you had a suite and above it could be $750

$750 is a large OBC, must have been if you purchased a suite I guess.

OBC is always something that is on your paperwork from the cruise company it's there in black and white and is quite transparent you either have some or you don't I have never heard of spending a certain amount to get a certain amount that just defeats the purpose... you need to ensure all you have been promised is in writing before you go obviously this was a miss understanding sorry you feel ripped off but it was a matter of you reading and understanding you paperwork therefore your issue not the cruise company or the agent ...

The details of how much OBC is in the contract and cruise agreement that was emailed to you from the cruise line. Sorry you feel this way but I believe that you feel ripped off because you didn’t pay close attention. Didn’t you receive paperwork in your cabin when you arrived? We always have that waiting for us, spelling out exactly how much OBC we were getting and who it was from... (cruise line, travel agent, etc).

Always ask questions about the onboard spending to make sure if it is actually true.
