Review summary

Our experience got better thanks to Carolina, hostess at the Chic Restaurant, and our cabin steward John. They made our first cruise a very pleasant journey. They should be recognized for their excellent customer service skills. I know they will be very successful in their endeavors. RECOMMENDATION: They should give the announcement and do the safety drill in Spanish as well since the cruise is departing from Galveston, where is Hispanic community is VERY LARGE. My parents were not able to understand anything they were saying. They said they will not take a cruise out of Galveston by themselves due to the language barrier. There is a lot of people that think the same way.

I agree the safety briefings should be given in Spanish, Safety First. P.S. I do not speak Spanish!!

I was thinking one of those translators that the person wears headphones and hears their translation while the rest hear English

Some of you are being insensitive to what she's saying. Not a bad idea to have one in a different are for those who don't understand English. I'm in Houston and agree with her 100%. Need both, just remember when you get off at certain Ports and they all don't speak English, what are you thinking or feeling then.

Same drill (English) at other ports in US that I've sailed out of. 🇨🇱

My thoughts exactly. If you want to live in the USA you need to learn to speak and understand the language. Just saying.

Galveston is still part of the United States and the official language is English. If they had announcements in every language that is spoken on the cruise, they would never stop talking.

Maybe have a drill somewhere for Spanish speakers, not do the drill in both. Those things are already long enough.
