This was our 7th Carnival Cruise and 3rd on the Freedom. Carnival has never dissapointed us and this was no exception. Carnival's staff are outstanding in every way...from knowing your first name to making sure you are comfortable and your needs are met the whole trip. The food is outstanding in all venues. One shout out for the room service. Once ordered our meal was delivered within 15 minutes by friendly staff who were alos engaging. We've already booked our next years cruise and we are so excited to be sailing on Carnival Vista!! Cant wait!!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
As a priority guest we are able to skip the lines and go straight to embarkation. It was very smooth and took us about 15 minutes from the time we entered the terminal to the time we boarded the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
As always, Carnival's selection of food was excellent. We were never disappointed in any of the food venues.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Absolutely loved the aft pool for adults only. Staff are great at making sure families with children are told that this is for adults only and sent back to main pool. Made lots of new friends and really enjoyed and relaxed.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
All the stage shows were great. One thing is the comedy shows were not quite up to par with our previous Carnival experiences but still laughed a lot.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All staff knew our first names on the first day and called us by our name each time they saw us. Our housekeeping staff cleaned our room 2-4 times per day. Our steward Nat called us once a day to make sure everything was perfect.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
We sailed on the Freedom. It was our 3rd cruise on this elegant lady. While the rooms and all areas were very clean the ship itself is starting to show some age.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Great cabin, very clean but again is starting to show some age. The handle on the door to our balconey was not working but was fixed within an hour after we brought it the attention of our steward. This size room is very spacious for us as a couple and offered easy access to elevators and the fun.
Ship tip
I would suggest paying for faster to the fun if you do not have priority embarkation and debarkation. It makes the process much faster and simpler.
Love Galvestion. We always come in the day before as early as possible to engage in some activities there. Ate at Bubba Gumps and it was fantastic. Played mini golf, ate ice cream at Ben and Jerrys and walked on the beach. Do yourself a favor and go early to enjoy Galvestion.
We look forward to going to Cozumel every time we cruise. My wife loves to shop there and we actually did a lot of shopping this trip. Beautiful town with very kind friendly people.
The port itself is ok but the city is one of those that looks like a third world country. However, I will say the people in Belize are very friendly and cordial.
Because of our priority status we were called to a designated area around 7:30 where we could sit comfortbly and even have a bite to eat. At 8:15 were were off the ship and headed to customs. Because of going to Belize customs is a bit slower but still we were on the road home by 9:00.
