A perfect cruise for spending time with family and friends. Something for everyone!

Embarkation

Great! We parked in the covered parking across from the terminal. Carried our bags to the terminal where a porter picked them up and took them to the designated area. We proceeded through the check in process quickly and smoothly and were on the ship for lunch and drinks.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food in the Posh dining room was wonderful. The buffets were okay. The specialty restaurants and the burrito/taco area was excellent. We tried the sushi, the fresh made deli sandwiches and the omlettes and all were excellent. We also toured the kitchen and had dinner with Chef Panda and Chein. This was a fabulous experience I would highly recommend.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We had so much fun on board. The activities around the pool were great. We thoroughly enjoyed the shows in the auditorium. Our favorite was the end of the week lip sync performance. The comedians were also good and we enjoyed the piano bar and karaoke nights. The casino was crowded in the evenings but we were still able to play. The music around the casino on deck 5 and also the entertainment in the atrium were both good. Malcolm, the cruise director, helped make all the activities on the ship. His humor and encouragement to participate in the activities helped make everyone feel like they were at a party.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed the shows. The quality of the performers was excellent. We really liked Ms. Drumz. The DJ kept the party going around the ship and pool area. Alixir 6 was very talented and we enjoyed listening to them in the atrium area. Our favorite times were when Malcolm, the cruise director was involved in the show. We especially enjoyed the Lip Sync show. We also really enjoyed the movies out around the pool in the evenings. This was a great time for our entire family to be together.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
We brought a 2 year old with us. He really enjoyed the Dr. Seus programs.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Mohamed did an excellent job of taking care of us. Our room was spotless, beds made neatly and we loved the towel animals. Our waiters in the Posh restaurant were also great. Igor and Adrian took excellent care of us. We loved Malcolm, the cruise director and his staff that worked tirelessly around the different venues/activities keeping us all involved and feeling like our stay was a party.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The common areas were kept spotless although there is some wear and tear around the ship. We liked the design of the ship. The boat was full but there was plenty of room for everyone to move around freely. A little congestion around deck 5 by the casino but there was a band, bar and pictures all going on in the same space. My only complaint here would be the septic smell on deck 6. It occasionally smelled like sewage back up in the halls.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We loved our cabin. It was centrally located. This was our first time to have a balcony and will never book another cruise without one. Mohamed kept our room spotless. Plenty of bathroom and pool towels. There were 3 adults in our room and we had plenty of space. Our only complaint was the shortage of plugs.

Ship tip

Book excursions that don't run the risk of being cancelled. Ex: boating, jet skis, etc. There was a tremendous amount of confusion at Grand Caymen related to excursions. A large number of people were on shore without the knowledge that their excursions had been cancelled due to the weather. They were scrambling for things to do.

Ports of call

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Nice port. We visited the local merchants when we were getting back on the ship. We went to the The Jewel resort for a day and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend the resort for a day excursions.

George Town, Grand Cayman

There was so much confusion when we got off the boats at the pier. We went snorkeling just down the main street from the pier even though it was pretty windy. The guide told us it was going to be rough snorkeling but it was really tough. The water and fish were fabulous but it was exhausting. This turned out to be my least favorite stop even though it was the one I was looking forward to the most.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We had been to Cozumel before and enjoyed it equally as much this trip. We went to Playa De Mia resort for a day and had a wonderful day. What a great idea to have a beach, pool/water park with no hotel. The service was excellent, food was minimal but the beach and toys on the beach made the trip worthwhile. We had easy taxi service getting to the location. We came back in time to shop and enjoyed Malcolm's welcome back to the ship. It was a nice touch to have water with lemon waiting on the docks when people came back on the ship.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We were delayed several hours for issues that were beyond the ships control. Death on board, drug arrests, fog. There were a lot of people disembarking all at one time and gathering up luggage. The last cruise on Carnival was much more organized.
