Review summary

The ship was clean and well maintained. The best part is the Cabin stewards and wait staff. They are very cooperative and work hard to please you. Now the dark side.

The entertainment staff, 4 males and 4 females were the worst we have ever seen or heard. They were more on a high school level. During the first 3 performances.quite a few passengers including ourselves walked out during the performance. The appearance of one of the males (from Beaumont, Texas) was not very professional and laughable at best..

The Punchliner Comedy Club had great entertainment but the manager left a lot to be desired with his attitude. The first night it appeared to have had a disagreement with a passenger. He then got on stage and talked about he was from the South side of Chicago and he didn't have to put up with that when they invaded his space further when the ship docked at Key West he would be out on the street to take care of it. While I did not see or hear the earlier incident I thought his boasting and ranting on stage (with microphone) was extremely unprofessional. I was even more surprised to see he was back every night working in the same position.

The ship skipped the first  port of call, Key West, Fl. because of winds. While I understand safety of the ship and crew, I do not understand why we couldn't stop when we passed within eyesight on the return trip to Galveston. Yes there was ample time to stop and complete the cruise on time. Even an abbreviated time of 6 hours in port would have been nice. The only compensation given by Carnival was $13.90 for  port fees etc. The reason given for not stopping was that they have to plan a year or longer to make the change. Give me a break!!!

The cruse director, Rebecca Hamilton, from England is a very nice lady but you cannot understand her when she is speaking over the PA system. In all fairness it is hard to hear quite often with all the noise but with the accent it is almost impossible to understand her.

It seems as though Carnival continues to slide downhill from their previous years of service and quality.. Some of the of employees left a lot to be desired I hope this is not the way of the future for Carnival.

Well I'm going on this ship in May and I've gone on many with no complaints at all!! I'm not about to let anyone or anything ruin my cruise! It's what you make it.

Keep in mind they can't just sail into a port unannounced and dock the ship. There are hundreds of ships from many cruise lines all competing for dock space. It's likely the port had no room available.

Changes in itineraries and missed ports happen all the time, with all cruise lines, due to weather and ship issues. We missed a port in November due to ship propulsion issues and a port AND a day of our cruise in January due to fog in Galveston. It happens; flexibility is key and attitude is everything. And yes, they do contract with ports for exact dates years in advance. They can't make changes like that. That's like the gal asking if the ship can go some place else if it rains at their scheduled port, lol. Read your cruise contract.
