Review summary

This was my best friends first cruise. And we loved it we had the best time ever. Ever thing went smooth and great. The only problem we had was with the pick of the liquor at the end of the cruise. I think they need to figure out another way of picking it up at the end of the cruise. That was a disaster but all in all recommend this cruise so mush fun.

Do everything on the ship!!! And go on the excursions they are great!!! You will feel really safe on them!!!

Only ports I know of are Galveston and Houston/Bayport. Basically, heres the deal. its $3.50 for a fifth of booze. pay when you leave the port near customs etc. pay more if you have larger bottles. Oh and they charge for cigarettes too: 1.50 a pack or 15.00 a carton. Theres actually a website with prices at the TABC site. Check ports of entry > tax rates. tabc.tx.state.us

Think it's Galveston and I want to say I hear Miami but could be wrong on that. I only have cruised out of Galveston. So not 100% on the other ports

The State of Texas requires payment of alcohol tax on any liquor brought into the state. Not really carnival's fault, they have to follow procedures to "assist" passengers in paying their taxes.

You no longer get your port purchases the night before.... You have to pick it up the morning you dis embark. Trying to get more people to pay their taxes...
