Review summary
We are Platinum status cruisers. We got on board about 11:00 AM, normally, our luggage arrives about 1/2 to 1 hour after we get into our room. On this cruise the luggage arrived after 8:00 PM. It was soaked, clothes and everything. What we found out was that Carnival left almost everyones luggage on the dock during a big down pour. Therefore, the ship was 3 hours late in leaving the port. We had to hang our clothes all over the room to try and dry them. Some clothes had to be washed. Carnival agreed to wash them and they did, but lost two shirts. The worst part was that Carnival never even sent out a letter of apology to anyone.
Another negative experience was the entertainment in the main theater. When they started going to the new 2.0 entertainmnt package they got rid of the orchestra, dancers, etc, and installed a big LED screen and sound track. They still have some dancers, but they are not very good. The ship had one (1) show during the seven days. The other things they had in the theatre was a juggler, a magician, a hypnotist, things like that. The old way was a great show with orchestra, dancing and singing almost every night. And, we enjoyed this.
Dining and entertainment are the most important part of a cruise to us and since they have done away with the entertainment we will start back cruising on Royal Carribean, etc.
We are sorry we got Platinum status with Carnival and are having to start over.. Good Bye Carnival!
