Review summary

The Freedom is one fairly new and has decent size rooms. There are still some challenges (i.e. design/layout of ship) but overall it is an enjoyable ship to travel on.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

We ate in the Dining room each night and it was average some nights and good on others. The buffet was not very good and I would avoid if you have other options. Although booked well in advance we were not able to get an early dining time which resulted in challenges making it to some of the events that we wanted to attend. (i.e. comedy show.

Entertainment

Because of our late seating for dinner it was a challenge to make some of the events we would like to have attended. Many nights where was only one show rather than having both an early and late show.

Service and Staff

Staff was friendly but it just did not feel as friendly as we have experience previously. The maitre d' never visited our table of 7 during dinner and our service was average at best in most situations.

Ship Quality

Size is about right\, although the layout offers challenges when trying to go from one end of the ship to other when dining and then attending shows. We did not experience any problems with cleanliness of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5

All in very good shape although we did have a problem with our toilet when it stopped working. It was repaired within a couple of hours which was reasonable.

Pros: Rooms are nice size and ship was in good shape

Cons: Tips are charged to your account within the first two days

Recommends Carnival Freedom? No.
