Review summary

The ship was just OK. No real bells or whistles... Very rough waters and high winds (not their fault). Service was very lacking on the main parts of the ship (outside of cabin steward and dining room staff, which were great). Waiting 20 minutes at times for a drink while sitting at the bar. They didn't even have both bars open on the Lido Deck after 4pm or so. It made for a long wait if you wanted a drink. Many excursions were cancelled. Dunn's River Falls (Cool Runnings Excursion) was great. My wife got cut on a sharp edge of one of the foot rests on a deck chair.

Food and Dining

Food was decent in the dining room but the other areas of the boat were very average. Do not get a burger, they were terrible. It reminded me of a high school cafeteria burger. The pizza bar was hit and miss. Good pizza day 1, raw dough in the crust day 3, mediocre day 5.

Entertainment

Decent shows, comedians were OK, not great. Some musicians were decent but others were lacking.

Service and Staff

Outside of the dining room wait staff, one bar waiter and the cabin steward, everything else was simply mediocre/average.

Very average. Decor was dated.

Nothing to rave about but served its purpose. The TV didn't work well. Steward was great.

Cons: Lido Deck Bar/Drink Service was bad. Understaffed, rough waters, cancelled excursions, etc

Recommends Carnival Freedom? No.
