Review summary

Ship was clean. Layout was a little confusing at times. I find the staff was not as friendly and attentive as other carnival lines. I thought maybe they were just missing their families for the Holidays. Food was quite European. Would like to have seen a little more American basics.

The buffets were okay but not much basic food. Quite European and very little basic American. Mashed potatoes only one day out of 8....Dining room food was pretty good except not one night did I have a really good desert.... They seem to be lacking in the deserts....

Entertainment

Comedy shows were rather short but the broadway shows were good.

Won't go at X-mas again due to all the kids running around on board. Over 1000 on our ship....

I have been on other Carnival lines where the staff were more interactive with the clients, joked and had fun. We did not have that on this cruise. Friendly and waited on us but not fun like I have had in the past....

We went to the Panama Canal Locks and a City tour. It was all fascinating.

Pros: The ports of Calls, the Victorian broadway shows, the company we had at our dinner table, the fast boarding and unboarding.

Cons: The cost of Alcoholic drinks onboard. You go on vacation to have a good time. You don't want to have to worry about how much you drink but with the cost of alcoholic drinks you do....I would have bought more pictures, souveniers etc if my bar tab was not ridiculous.

Recommends Carnival Freedom? Yes!
