Puerta Vallarta Beach excursion was super fun as was Electric Bike in desert in Cabo. Hot, hot, hot in Mazatlan!!

Embarkation

3 out of 5
We had 1030 time slot. Got inside dome and past security pretty quickly but had to stand in another line right after security to show paperwork again, then another time as we began to load. So many different lines! But overall we got on quick even though we didn’t even begin getting on ship until after 1130

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Bucket of beers $6 off but still cost roughly $10/can. 15% gratuity automatically added to ALL drinks service. Mixed drinks $13 minimum. We aren’t huge drinkers but ended up spending hundreds to buy a few specialty coffees, two spiked shakes, 2 sodas x 7 days and some beers. Prepaid for water bottles but had to call Guest Services twice on Day 2 to get them sent to our room.

Il Viaggio

4 out of 5

Limited Vegetarian options with NONE for main course but staff were willing to help and we enjoyed a delicious meal (best of the cruise!)

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Small pools ultra busy and crowded. We did enjoy the private hot tubs on rear of ship deck5 that were included as a perk due to our stateroom booking. Ropes course was open almost entire cruise! Loved the foosball tables at Sports Square.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff work hard as usual! Service was ok but so busy!!! Lots of early risers on my cruise so long lines for early breakfast and specialty coffees. Music so LOUD at Lido rear bar it was almost impossible to order anything without shouting.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Cleanliness was good. Missed having the Red Frog Pub. Sports bar was busy and since it was right on the hallway, people milled about blocking walkways. Most bars, other than Piano Bar just alcoves off of walkways-lacked separate ambience. Had large balcony on back of ship but deck and chairs constantly filthy due to black soot from smoke stack. Had to put towel on chair whenever we went onto balcony and wore shoes as our feet were BLACK before we realized it. Leaning on rail also dirty. Won’t stay on back again! Room smaller than other ships: no sofa, 1 hanging closet, 3 clothes drawers and a couple shelves for storage. Fridge in room worked well though!

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Small room, no inside seating other than bed and tiny vanity stool. Bathroom shower had door instead of curtain. Storage shelves in bathroom small and no ledge to them so things fall off easily. Shampoo/body wash combo only. A single picture for Arron room but was cozy. Loved size of balcony but ALWAYS dirty due to black soot from smoke stacks.

Ship tip

Bring all your toiletries if going out of California, local stores difficult to shop at. Rear balconies get lots of black soot on them!!

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We were in no rush to get off so we sat outside on deck 5 for HOURS with other groups of people watching people walk the gangway and trucks load the ship. Not exaggerating. Instructions on the speakers were few and far between. Paper in room said all guests off ship by 1030…not even close.
