Carnival Fascination

Cabin type: Oceanview

Cabin number: U124

Review summary

The cruise was okay. However, we won't sail out of Puerto Rico again. Carnival seemed to accommodate only certain guests and there was not a lot of variety in music and entertainment choices. This is an older ship that has only one pool. So unless you to fight floaties and be in hot standing-room only water, don't go to the pool.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The ship's Lido buffet dining room was too small to accommodate the number of passengers. The food selections were subpar and the at times the quality of food was lacking. On the last day, the "southern fried chicken" was burnt to a crisp. Whoever cooked and served that food would have been thrown out of the South.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
There was only one adult pool that was taken over by children. There was no place for adults to swim unless you wanted to be surrounded by children. They had an adults-only hot tub but who wants to sit in a hot tub in the hot Caribbean sun?

Ship Quality

They are getting a 3-star rating because the ship was older and needed a new layout.

Ship tip

Not to. The ship is small and is older. There weren't as many food options and there was no steakhouse restaurant. The buffet food options were subpar and there is not enough seating. Also, Guy's Burger joint should be open at least until midnight and not close at 6 pm. The pizza station had only one person working so there was always a long line waiting for two slices of pizza.
