Overall, the cruise was a good vacation. The ONLY complaint we have is that the smaller ship, only had 2 smoking areas, the casino. and deck 11 above the Red Frog Rum bar. The space was VERY limited, no "lay out" deck chairs, just chairs.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had FTTF, so it was pretty smooth and fast
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Sea Day brunch was definitely lacking, but the YTD in the Celebration dining room was good. The Lido buffet was good, mostly the same food as in the dining room (except for the melting cake!) We didn't do any special restaurants. Guy's burgers is still the best for us
Guy's Burger Joint
5 out of 5
The BEST burgers!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We didn't get in the one pool. We did do a few trivia contests. There was plenty to entertain you.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The DJ's were ALWAYS playing, they were all good!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff were ALL friendly and willing to help on any way.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship is definitely needs to be retired, it was clean, but very worn. The crew did what they could to keep it clean. The design of the ship was confusing to us, we hadn't been on that size of ship before.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The room was comfortable. The TV is small. The bed slept well. The size was "as expected".
Ship tip
LOTS of walking and stairs. You would think being a smaller ship, it would have been LESS walking and stairs,
It was DEFINITELY "real Mexico". They are working very hard to "modernize" it. The peddlers and their wares are CONSTANT(as we read about). The "free beach" is where the peddlers were. The restaurant that "allows" you to use their chairs and umbrellas "if you buy a drink", don't tell you "If it a LOUNGE chair, it's 15$".
We always go to Mr Sanchos. We LOVE it there! 50$ each, all you can eat and drink. the taxi was 17$ each way. We forgot our towels, so we rented them there. The food was great, we ordered off the menu. There was a buffet, we did not eat at it. ( we wanted it to be fresher). We bought liquor (to take home) in Progreso, but it was definitely cheaper in Cozumel.
