Our experience with Carnival Fantasy was terrible. I kept trying to tell myself that it would get better but it didn't. From the excursion rip off to the disgusting food we were extremely disappointed. The only saving grace was our cabin steward Ham who was amazing!!! I reached out to Carnival with no response. We weren't asking for anything but just being acknowledge would have showed us that we were really part of the "Carnival Family" but I guess not. Save your time and money and go with a different cruise line.
Embarkation

I know that Carnival cannot control the weather but they did not have accommodations for people to wait for the ship. We had to walk almost a mile to find a bathroom and there was no shelter for us.

Food and Dining

At best it tasted like cafeteria food. Our saving grace was a man who made amazing omelettes in the morning. After the second day the food was so terrible we started to have loose stools.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
The only activities we enjoyed was the hairy chest contest. We were first time cruisers and they make you believe that you have to attend everything, we did but it was only to sell you junk
Entertainment
We were busy attending all the "must" attend seminars that we really didn't have time to enjoy the cruise.
Children's Programs
We did not have children on the cruise with us
Service and Staff

Our cabin steward was the nicest man, his name was Ham and we did not want for anything. He is the only good thing that I can say about this cruise!
Ship Quality

It was like we stepped back to the 80's, not very modern in our opinion
Cabin / Stateroom

The room was always clean and anything we wanted the cabin steward was amazing. Again, this is the only thing that Carnival did right.
Our ship was to arrive late which we did not find out about until we arrived to the port. It was delayed by 10 hours and there is no place for you to wait. No bathrooms, no place to get food or just sit..
We booked an excursion called Cozumel Beach Break and Shopping. We were taken to shops that were hosted or approved by Carnival. The shopping was okay, you would fine better deals if you went out on your own. We were told not to buy any alcohol because where they were taking us would be better and priced cheap. Being a tequila lover I was excited and the only reason we booked this excursion. Once we arrived to the tequila tasting it was okay and priced 2 to 3 times more than the tequila in town. I bought a bottle because why not, I am on vacation. Once arriving home it was nothing but colored water. I contacted Carnival with no response. Also our tour guides told us that they do not make any money giving us the tours, that carnival does not pay them. So, if we wanted to we could give them money! At the end of the tour they stood outside the bus with their hands out, people giving them money. Skip this excursion at all costs unless you want colored water in a bottle and tour guides that don't get paid by Carnival.
