We have cruised many times with Carnival and we think this one was the poorest overall. Ship needs overhaul, many children out of control, seems the adult supervision was not present. Kids were allowed to run around the decks unsupervised, especially around the pools and hot tubs. Most times the hot tubs could not be used because the kids had total control of them. The on board PA system was awful, so loud you couldn't really understand Ben the cruise director. We were very disappointed that the casino still allows smoking in them, get with the program, NO SMOKING IN COMMON AREAS!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Seemed to be rather lengthy, could be more speedy if first time cruisers were routed to a different areas in the terminal. Plenty of associates but much time was spent on folks that didn't have all their paperwork in order. Therefore slowing the whole process down.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Dining rooms were ok, this particular ship needs some serious upgrade and modernizing.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pools, spa, casino, shows.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Very good, it is obvious the dedication of the performers.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All the service staff that we encountered were very nice and pleasant.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The design of the ship was average, the common areas need a lot of attention. The ship in general is very old and run down. The pool deck areas were in poor condition, old looking and in disrepair. Windows in this area were so clouded you could not see out very well. Many of the metal areas are rusted so bad and all that was done is paint over the rust. Deck chairs were dirty and in many cases worn out. In general, the ship is in need of an overhaul.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Once again the conditions were ok, but it is very obvious that minimum maintenance has been done to the rooms.
I will always agree with the smoking issue. Every ship, it's Totally out of control! No reason a state of the art ventilation system can't be in place at the very least.
